Phil Durst

Phil
Durst was born in New York City and ultimately relocated to Houston,
Texas. Phil developed his love for
debate in high school and college. He
ultimately attended and graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in
1982 where, during his first semester, he won one of the senior moot court
competitions. Upon graduation, he worked
as an Assistant Attorney General, a trial and appellate practitioner, and an
instructor at UT School of Law. He was
board certified in Civil Appellate Law. Phil
gave many CLE presentations at appellate seminars on a range of topics,
including appellate advocacy, interlocutory appeals, and mandamus. He won the Helen Cassidy award as the top CLE
presenter at the annual State Bar’s Advanced Appellate Seminar. In addition to his appellate practice, Phil
earned a Master’s Degree in Philosophy and was an accomplished artist and a
saxophone player. |
