The Annual Meeting and Reception Committee plans and organizes the Section’s annual meeting, which is held each September during the Advanced Civil Appellate Practice Course in Austin. The meeting includes the discussion of Section business and the election of officers. In conjunction with the Annual Meeting, Section members are invited to enter a contest of short, appellate-related writing. The contest may be song lyrics, limericks, twitter briefs or other compositions. Prizes are awarded to the top three winners. The Committee also plans and hosts a reception honoring the judiciary following the annual meeting.
